Hey Designers!
Today's criteria is a tough one:
Design a multiplayer (split screen, co-op or online matchmaking) game where the most compelling mechanic is the movement.

Game Summary:
Players compete in an arena. The goal of the game is to be the last man standing. The floor around you is comprised of tiles. If you walk over a tile it falls away. This world has low gravity so you jump and aim where you fall to pick your tiles carefully. Around the arena you can find items to help you knock other players out of the ring. Some items may blast people back, or pull them towards you, or even give you a dodgeball like item to throw at people. Use movement mechanics like diving and tumbling to out maneuver your opponent. Use carefully timed combat abilities such as throws, stuns, or counter attacks if you find yourself at close range. And be sure to remember where you've stepped!

Lost in the Dark is a 2-6 player co op survival game. You and your friends are separated in a large labyrinth level at opposite ends of the map. Players can only see themselves, and 10 feet in all directions, in a 3d, procedurally generated top down survival game. The level is completely black, with more than just stone hallways and gaps in the floor. Monsters lurk in the dark and all players can do to escape it is run. the controls are simple W,A,S,D to move and Shift to sprint.
Players will have to overcome the darkness and meet up with each other in the safe room. There is no mini map. the only way to find the safe room is to literally find it. Players will be attacked by monsters throughout the game. There are roughly 6-18 monsters per player on the map depending on difficulty.
The only way to survive is to keep moving, and keep your lamp lit. Every player has a lantern that lasts 2 minutes. Maps generally take 6-20 minutes to complete depending on difficulty. The less players move the more attracted monsters will be to them. Spending 10 seconds not moving, even with your lantern still lit will most definitely result in death. Once lamps go out fuel can be picked up by walking over it, that is assuming of course you find it.
The levels are procedurally generated, and dynamic. A hallway with 2 doors at the end of it can randomly change into a shorter hallway with a wall that has slid in front of it. Other obstacles include complete dead ends, holes in the floor, and traps. Players who stay on the move will less often find themselves being quickly overtaken by monsters, but possibly more frequently falling through gaps in the floor.
Enemies are simple for the most part, and move slow. But once your friends die they become ghosts, sometimes with their lanterns off. Your friends don't play these ghosts, they can only spectate individual players at a time. All players look the same, so communication is important to determine whether or not an approaching "friend" is really a friend at all.
